Get inspired with fresh floral

Monday, June 27th, 2011

Underscore the drama of your wedding with the right flowers. Find a professional who will take the time to learn about you and the ambience you want to create. Six months before the wedding is not too early to select your florist, especially if you’re planning an elaborate wedding. When you talk with your florist, be guided by these elements: the style and mood of your wedding, the season or environment, your budget, and what you like.

You’ll need a number of  floral pieces for your wedding: centerpieces for reception tables, sprays for candelabras, corsages for those who assist with various reception duties,  floral “tokens” for special guests, and bouquets for bridesmaids and yourself.  Ask your florist for guidance. His/her artistry, knowledge of wedding protocol and ability to listen to your needs will ensure that you’ll get a good value for your money, and have the perfect floral accents to enhance your wedding day.  Enjoy this pick of fresh floral pictures from a few of our florists.

Simply about detail: accents for your chairs

It’s your big day, you’ll be wearing a big white dress… you probably don’t need a sign around your neck that says, “I’m the bride!” But you can put a sign around your chair and create yet another must see detail.

Chair accents can be as simple as chair jackets, or they can be unique, personalized and eye-catching with some floral touches! Here are some ways to make your seats the best in the house:

  • Mr. and Mrs. signs – This is the first glimpse of your new name in print. Paper signs made to match your stationary can be attached to your chairs with a gorgeous ribbon in your color palette.
  • Floral décor – Wedding florists can craft your initials out of flowers to hang on your chairs. Or create small wreaths to hang from ribbon on your chairs.
  • Bride and Groom signs – You can find these signs at wedding boutiques and web sites everywhere. Pick something that represents the style of your wedding. Have a rustic feel? Have your names branded on pieces of wood. Going for the drama? Have a calligrapher handwrite your names on mirrors and attach them to your chairs. If you are having a  Spring garden wedding, you can use vintage tin signs.

Keep in mind it can be something you can use for your memory book. Make it interesting, have fun making them.
